Sort a Box, Feed a Family at Second Harvest (LCVC)

Volunteers will help to sort food and other items at the Second Harvest in Lorain, Ohio. Food comes to the foodbank in many forms. It needs to be sorted for delivery to food pantries and other organizations for distribution to families and individuals in need. Modifications to the project may be made to accommodate volunteers with limited mobility. 

Second Harvest gathers and provides resources to hunger-relief agencies serving individuals and families in Crawford, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties.
 

Age Limits: This project is for volunteers age 12 and up. Anyone under the age of 18 must bring a signed youth waiver.

. Anyone under the age of 16 must have a parent/guardian volunteering with them for the duration of the project.


Things to remember: You'll be sorting food in a warehouse so please wear closed toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

Where to Meet your Leader: 
Enter through the front, main entrance, walk past the welcome desk straight toward the warehouse, and meet in the Volunteer Center on the right.

If you would like to bring a non-oriented volunteer (friend/family member) please email the Opportunity Leader to request permission and reserve a guest spot.

Special Driving Instructions: Second Harvest has a parking lot available for volunteers.
