Lorain County Volunteer Connection is proud to be able to offer projects through HandsOn Northeast Ohio that coincide with National Days of Service. The Seven National Days of Service include:
Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service (MLK Day) in January
National Volunteer Week (NVW) in April
Earth Day on April 22nd
Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) on the fourth Saturday in April
United Way Worldwide Day of Action June 21
September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11th
Make A Difference Day (MDDay) on the fourth Saturday in October
National Family Volunteer Day (NFVD) on the Saturday before Thanksgiving Holiday
United Way's Week of Caring
Each fall, United Way of Greater Lorain County partners with organizations across Lorain County to complete a week of volunteer opportunities supporting United Way's impact areas (Education, Income, Health, and Basic Needs). You can facilitate powerful change in our community by giving back at a Week of Caring project near you.

Spring Day of Caring
LLC Day of CaringUnited Way of Greater Lorain County and Leadership Lorain County partner every year for the Spring Day of Caring. This project typically coincides with Lorain County Pride day. It offers volunteers a chance to help get Lorain County ready to move past winter and into spring!
United Way Worldwide Day of Action
Each year on June 21, communities around the world come together to harness the volunteer spirit and improve the conditions in which they live.
Now in its sixth year, United Way Day of Action is an invitation for people and organizations around the world to LIVE UNITED and take action to address a variety of challenges. It is a day that we ask you to help us put our mission into action by improving the building blocks for a good quality of life –education, income, and health.
