Team Volunteen! (Youth Volunteer Corps)

HandsOn Northeast Ohio

Join HandsOn NEO's Youth Volunteer Corps for a Saturday afternoon of service and fun! Teen volunteers (ages 11-18) are invited to participate in a unique and fun volunteer opportunity on the last Saturday of every month! Teens will learn about different issue areas while completing fun volunteer projects together.

Each month's project will focus on a different issue area and will include icebreakers, a service project with service learning, and a reflection.

HandsOn is proud to be an affiliate of the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC). Our mission is to create volunteer opportunities to address community needs and to inspire youth for a lifetime commitment to service. The program offers volunteer projects for youth ages 11 to 18 on weekends, after school and during the summer. HandsOn Northeast Ohio's YVC is one of over 40 affiliates spread across North America.

No Volunteer Orientation Necessary. ALL Teen Volunteers Welcome.
Please note: Volunteers must be age 11-18 to participate!

Things to Remember: This project is specifically designed for youth ages 11-18. It is an opportunity for teens to volunteer without a guardian present and to meet other youth volunteers. All youth attending Team Volunteen! will need a completed ‚ÄčYouth Volunteer Waiver in order to participate.

Homeless Stand Down Donation Sorting

Project Description: Volunteers will help sort, organize, inventory, and label in-kind or bulk purchased donations (hats, gloves, coats, etc) for the 27th Homeless Stand Down 2018. 

About the Homeless Stand Down:  
The Homeless Stand Down (HSD) is an event for individuals, veterans and families facing poverty and homelessness. An est. 1,500 guests enjoy access to social service providers, haircuts, medical screenings, live entertainment, professional portraits, breakfast and lunch, and free winter clothing, personal care kits, bus passes and much more. 

Things to remember: Dress comfortably in clothes you are willing to get dirty. Wear closed toe shoes, and leave valuables in your vehicle. Some heavy lifting may be required.

Where to Meet Your Leader: 
Volunteers will meet in the orientation room - first door on the left once you enter the building. 

Age Limits: This project is for youth ages 11-18 only.  All youth attending Team Volunteen! will need a completed Youth Volunteer Waiver in order to participate.  It is an opportunity for teens to volunteer without a guardian present and to meet other youth volunteers.

The warehouse is at the intersection of Payne Ave and E. 31st St. Parking is availble along E. 31st St or in the parking lot next to the buildling along E. 31st St. Enter the building through the door beneath the red awning with "HKM" written on it. Click HERE for detailed driving directions.
