Team Volunteen! (Youth Volunteer Corps)

HandsOn Northeast Ohio

Join HandsOn NEO's Youth Volunteer Corps for a Saturday afternoon of service and fun! Teen volunteers (ages 11-18) are invited to participate in a unique and fun volunteer opportunity on the last Saturday of every month! Teens will learn about different issue areas while completing fun volunteer projects together.

Each month's project will focus on a different issue area and will include icebreakers, a service project with service learning, and a reflection.

HandsOn is proud to be an affiliate of the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC). Our mission is to create volunteer opportunities to address community needs and to inspire youth for a lifetime commitment to service. The program offers volunteer projects for youth ages 11 to 18 on weekends, after school and during the summer. HandsOn Northeast Ohio's YVC is one of over 40 affiliates spread across North America.

No Volunteer Orientation Necessary. ALL Teen Volunteers Welcome.
Please note: Volunteers must be age 11-18 to participate!

Things to Remember: This project is specifically designed for youth ages 11-18. It is an opportunity for teens to volunteer without a guardian present and to meet other youth volunteers. All youth attending Team Volunteen! will need a completed ‚ÄčYouth Volunteer Waiver in order to participate.


September 23rd-  Beach Clean Up at Edegwater Park!  

Project Description: Volunteers will pick up trash and debris along the park and beach. 

About Edgewater Park :  

The 147 acre Edgewater Park is the westernmost park in Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation. Edgewater Park features 9000 feet of shoreline, dog and swim beaches, boat ramps, fishing pier, picnic areas and grills, and a rentable pavilion.

Things to remember: Dress comfortably in clothes you don't mind getting dirty or getting paint on and wear sensible, closed toe shoes. Leave your valuables at home or in your vehicle.

All youth must bring a signed Cleveland Metropark youth waiver and medical release form. These materials will be emailed to the volunteers in advanced and will also be available to fill out on-site. 

Age Limits: This project is for youth ages 11-18 only.  All youth attending Team Volunteen! will need a completed Youth Volunteer Waiver in order to participate.  It is an opportunity for teens to volunteer without a guardian present and to meet other youth volunteers.

Special Driving Instructions: 

I-90, I-77, and I-71… FROM THE WEST and SOUTH
travel north towards downtown Cleveland
go east on I-90 East/the Inner Belt
follow Exit 174-B for Route 2 West/Lakewood
continue along the West Shoreway past downtown, the museums, First Energy Stadium
and cross the Main Ave. bridge
For Lower Edgewater Park/beach area:
take Exit 192 for lower Edgewater Park/Whiskey Island
For Upper Edgewater Park:
continue past the beach area to the traffic light at Lake Ave.
turn right on Lake Ave., then right on Cliff Dr.
entrance to Upper Edgewater Park is on the right
Edgewater Reserved Shelter (east and west halves) is at the end of the
parking area.
take I-90 west and follow sign for Route 2 West/Downtown Cleveland
(see directions above for I-90, I-77 and I-71)
I-480… FROM THE EAST OR WEST (see directions above for I-271, I-77 or I-71)
